Hit Lake St. Clair recently with Jenga(bass ninja) and had over 30 smallmouths all over 3 1/2 lbs in 3 hours.  My other bro had 26 smallies by himself between 8 - 11 am yesterday.  Hey Maltese been out yet?

Not yet. Fishing has taken a backseat for the last ten days. We've had five deaths in the family. It has been absolutely horrible.

It started with Cindy's uncle on Thursday, then my aunt on Sunday. Monday I lost my brother-in-law (and fishing buddy). Friday my uncle died, and then Sunday, my cousin's son-in-law.

I've been doing some LMB fishing in my canal, when I'm not at the funeral home. (just to save my sanity) I hope to have my boat in the water some time this coming week. Weather permitting.

I had planned a trip down this past week but high winds and weather have postponed.  Hopefully the weather will break this next week and I will head down.  Its about an hour drive to the 9 mile marina where we usually put in.  CANNOT WAIT

If you don't mind my asking  what was the hot bait?  Tubes, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, traps?

Don't want to hijack the post but my maiden trip last week thurs -sat caught over 80 smallmouth smallest 3.1 with 3 over 6 one was my best of trip 6.4... Most all came on crankbaits strikeking 4-6' od back with cream belly crank hard into coontail (i think) stop wait about a 4-5 count and rip it, hang on ..wow what a fishery

I was there on Thursday this week.  I took out some friends who never caught a smallie in their life and wanted to get them on the fish.  So I brought some golden shiners, we caught 26 in four hours.  My brother was there on tue. and caught 26 by himself in 4hrs.  It is a fantastic fishery.  We caught a lot on tubes (gold copper with purple flake), minnows and jerkbaits (LC pointer ghost and pearl).  With this new moon on Thursday it should really heat up.

I can't even sleep I am soo ready to hook up with some huge LSC smallies.

This weather is killing me though.  Its 40 degrees today and snowing up north.  WTH?

How is the water clarity?  I bet with all this rain and wind it is pretty chalky.

Thanks for the lure info

Thanks.

It was probably the most difficult two weeks of my life, but now I'm trying to get back to normal. I hope to have my boat in the water this weekend, then some Lake St. Clair smallmouth therapy will help I'm sure.
