how does flow rates and currents affect me when im on a river with a dam fishing for smallmouths? can somebody explain what flow rates are and currents and how it effects me and how i can use it to fish. (i fish in both the calm side and the over pour fast current side of the dam)

also if you can, give me a explanation of the moon phases and the involvement of fishing there as well for smallies and do people fish those at night? or in the day time? how does the moon phase work for fishing?

Flow: the volume of water flowing past a certain pont, measuerd in cubic feet per second

Current: the speed at which water flows past a certain point, measured in feet per second.

best way to learn what your looking for is to spend time on the water and when you catch one pay attention  to the details. time,weather,current, it all plays a factor
