urban_angler28 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Fishing the Susquehanna today got one pretty nice smallie. Got him on a strike king 3" tube. Hopped it once or twice then let it sit for a while seen my line take off then set the hook on him. He really swallowed that tube too, it sucks that its bout to snow again I'm ready for more smallie action. I will have pics next time. Quote
SmallieFever Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Good job! That water must be darn chilly about now. Wish that snow wasn't coming... Quote

urban_angler28 Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 what water temps do you wait for? we normally dont get fishing here till mid march early april when the river get up in the 50's I like to wait till its in atleast the 40s. But really as long as I'm comfortable enough and not to cold to focus I will give it a try. I just like to see consistency in the temps. Quote
tnbassfisher Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I still haven't gotten on my first one of the year. It's supposed to be 70 degrees here Saturday, so I'm really hopping this is the weekend! Quote
smmouthluvr Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 wow so jealous most everything here still frozen > Quote
Blade-Runner Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Awesome! We've been nailing them on the river up here, at least until the water clarity suffered from the thaw. This is the one time of year I prefer to bank-fish the river. Those key wintering spots always hold fish. Good way to get the rust off before the lakes thaw... We've been getting most of ours on jigs and crankbaits. Quote
Jerryvon Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Congrats! Did you fish from shore? I had not got a chance to hit the Susqy. Is it free from ice already? Thanks! Jerry Quote
