Super User Dwight Hottle Posted November 10, 2009 Author Super User Posted November 10, 2009 Here is another view, same fish. I caught 5 smallies all on a pointer 100 deep diver. Water temp was 51 degrees. Fish were still spread out. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted November 10, 2009 Author Super User Posted November 10, 2009 I had one bait 12 feet back from the boat in a rod holder while I turned the boat. I looked back and my rod got slamed. Heck of a bonus. 32" long & 12lb-4oz. Quote

Super User Dwight Hottle Posted November 10, 2009 Author Super User Posted November 10, 2009 Had a long time buddy come over yesterday for some smallie action. His biggest smallie to date was a 4lb-15 oz. I gave him my hot bait to use for the day and he outfished me 6 bass to my 4. Here a pic of new personal best, right at 6lbs. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 10, 2009 Super User Posted November 10, 2009 nice fishing, Dwight! Very cool of you to share with your friend. i love it when I do well, but I love it just as much when I can show someone how to do well, too. Really validates what your doing. nice work all around! NewAngler Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Great fish, Dwight. I just saw one of your post in the other species section and thought, "I wonder how his fall on erie has been." That was literally 3 minutes ago. Great job, as usual. Oh, if his was at 6, what was yours at, and why don't you start a guide service? Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted November 12, 2009 Super User Posted November 12, 2009 Truely awesome small mouth bass! Congrats!!! Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted November 12, 2009 Author Super User Posted November 12, 2009 New angler, My first fish weighed 6lb-4oz. If I was a guide, fishing might become work rather than fun. Besides I'm retired . Quote
Bass-1 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Those are truly amazing smallies Dwight. Looks like if I want to catch a smallie over 6 lbs., I'll have to fish Erie..... Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 13, 2009 Super User Posted November 13, 2009 Those are truly amazing smallies Dwight. Looks like if I want to catch a smallie over 6 lbs., I'll have to fish Erie..... Nah...You guys in Maine produce 6 lb smallies. 8-) Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 13, 2009 Super User Posted November 13, 2009 Maine state record is 8-0. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted November 13, 2009 Super User Posted November 13, 2009 The 8th was THE day to be out on Erie, a friend and I spent the late morning/early afternoon out there and put over 50 in the boat between us, no giants, but nothing under 3, and each of us got a mid 5. Tubes and or dropshot, didn't matter they bit both. Funny thing is we were smack dab in the middle of a 30+ boat tournament (we were not in it) and every one was catching fish, on.................about a 2 square mile area, elbow to elbow we were stacked in there and so were the fish. Only place in the world for SM like it........and the fish are just freaks as well. Quote
NateFollmer Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Geez, I need to get up to Lake Erie! I keep saying every year I'm coming up, but I never do. Those are some awesome fish! The smallies here in the Juniata aren't even close to that size Quote
