central.PA.bass Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Hey guys. I have a club tournament tomorrow at the Allegheny Reservoir in Warren PA (on the border of PA and NY.) The weather is calling for some rain and 15mph wind and 55 degrees. I fished this lake this summer at a tournament and caught 3 keepers fishing a shallow flat that led into a creek... However this time of year the lake is down between 10 and 20ft... The man made structures (Crates) should be decently visible now. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to throw or what to look for with conditions like this? I was thinking spinners/baits, and some swimbaits or cranks.. any useful information would be appreciated! Thanks Quote
simplejoe Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I've been pre-fishing at one Reservoir for tomorrow's tournament, and I've been having good luck with Rat-l-traps and jigs. Mostly all the fish I caught were up tight against logs sitting in about 6 feet of water in a creek channel coming into the Reservoir. Good luck. Quote
bassnleo Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 So, how did it go? Wish I would have seen your post earlier, I could have passed on some info, sorry :-/ Quote
central.PA.bass Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 it was bad... 15 guys fished it.. a handful prefished it and did terrible.. 5 guys weighed fish.. big fish was 1.77lbs.. biggest bag was like 3 fish for 3+lbs.... really bad weekend of bass fishing... the toothy critters were sure biting though Quote
A-Rob Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I immediately thought the same as you, a spinnerbait, lipless crankbaits, trying to get those reaction strikes. Maybe a carolina rig if they want a slower presentation while continuing to cover water decent Quote
