simplejoe Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Angling Adam, What size of split-shot were you using and what was your presentation? Cheers, CWeb I used these, mainly 3/8 it has a slow fall rate . I've been experimenting with 3/4 too. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat20176-cat20295&id=0012270320877a&navCount=5&podId=0012270&parentId=&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=UK&rid=&parentType=&indexId=cat20295&hasJS=true Quote

A-Rob Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Angling Adam, What size of split-shot were you using and what was your presentation? Cheers, CWeb My memory is bit hazy as it was a while ago, but I had a smaller xrap, the size 8 I believe, in a realistic minnow color. Had a maximum of 1/4oz in splitshots on the line, but most likely it was less, like 3/16 or something. So with that light weight I just casted it out, let the sinker take the lure down, and its doing its xrap thing as the weight is creating some speed for it. Got to the bottom and I just started reeling it at a medium pace, never snapped it or anything extra. I don't think the weight was dragging on the bottom, but it was just enough to keep the lure down around 12-15 feet. Quote
