maineman Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 just ordered some reaction innovations smallie sweet beavers. would like to know what size hooks to use. and rigging to use. thanks! Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted August 16, 2009 Super User Posted August 16, 2009 I usually fish the full size sweet beaver myself on a 4/0 EWG worm hook, texposed. If I were using the small sweet beaver, I'd probably go a size down, to a 3/0. Also, get yourself some Sluggo belly weights. Lead nails more or less. Put one in the belly. Works a lot better than a bullet weight on the nose. JMO! Quote
J P Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 2... or 3 ... i like the 2 imo if you are rigging with a bullet weight. I would go with a 1/4oz tungsten bullet weight to give that small compact profile, but i think a smallie beaver works best on a 3/16th - 1/4oz spot remover jig head. you can even go as small as 1/8oz... always depends on the situation.
