bassgirl21 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I've seen a few ways to retrieve tubes. Which ways the most effective. Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 RW, I got completely swept up in that old post. Nice! Quote
BigJohnny Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I toss mine out into the garbage can and use no retrieve. All I get with tubes is frustrated. Quote

I have tried everything, but that thread gave me more information than I have ever been able to gather on Tubes. Bookmarked indeed. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted August 13, 2009 Super User Posted August 13, 2009 Yesterday, on my first try, on my third cast, I caught my first largemouth on a tube, a three and a half pounder. Now I'm an expert on tubes. ;D ;D ;D The first sentence is true, the second not so true. One thing I did learn, and anyone who is learning the tubes needs to know is this. If you use an internal weight, a contact with a rock will feel like a bite if you are familiar with fishing hard head jigs. The plastic of the tube absorbs the tink or tunk of the weight against a stone, making it feel similar to a bass mouthing a hard head jig. I'm still experimenting with retrieves, trying to get a handle on what works best. Even then, what works best today, might not tomorrow. At the moment, the most important thing I learned is not to expect the tube to feel like a jig, as it makes contact with the bottom. Actually I learned two things. The second is that tubes work. Now, to find out how well they can work. Quote
