bass wrangler569 Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Look at some articles or google image search it. Basically its a method to present your bait accurately and with as little noise as possible from short range distances. Try putting up this thread in the general fishing section instead, you'll get a lot more responses, flipping and pitching isn't really a smallmouth technique (usually). Quote
D4u2s0t Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 flipping and pitching are techniques used to accuarately put your bait on/around structure from short distance. you've probably done it without knowing it! basically instead of making your normal cast, where you bring the pole back and snap it forwards, you let the bait hang down in front of you, flip the bail, lower your rod slightly to let the bait swing back, then raise the rod back up to let the bait swing forwards and go into the water. it's great when getting into tight areas, or areas that you want to be in that are too close to do a regular cast.
