fishbully 2.0 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Leaving for jacksonville on tuesday and I'll be there thru june. On the way home I'm stopping @ bass pro. ;D I have a budget. If you had 40 bucks what lures would you get? Keep in mind I'll be fishing in the southeast all summer. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted May 1, 2009 Super User Posted May 1, 2009 40 bucks worth of horny toads and horny toad hooks ;D Quote
BassAssasin2 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Berkley 7 in power worms, they are the best. The bass hit em hard. Senkos another great plastic worm. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Only 40 bucks? By limiting yourself to only that much, you shouldn't even torture yourself by going to Bass Pro, because you will see a lot of stuff that you won't be able to buy. With that much, instead goto Walmart and load up on Wave Worm Tiki Sticks (which are much cheaper at WalMart than Bass Pro). They are half the price of Senkos and last twice (if not more) as long. I think they work just as well, but that's another debate on another thread. Quote
Steven Ladner Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 40 bucks worth of horny toads and horny toad hooks ;D x2 Those are all you need Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted May 1, 2009 Super User Posted May 1, 2009 How much you want to bet that he spends more than $40? I tryrd that too, I told myself I can only spend $ 75 and I came home with about $ 200 spent! As for the $ 40 I would get some Baby Paca Craws,Senko's,Rage Tail Lizard, and the Rage Tail Anaconda worm,Tubes, some Chompers fin.football jigs. Just my two cents worth. Quote
fishbully 2.0 Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 I can go to walmart anytime I want but heading to bps is a little more rare. As far as the 40 bucks is concerned I'm pretty sure I'll be spending more. But right now it seems like I'll be picking up horny toads and senkos. Anyone want to suggest a swimbait? Quote
Hatty Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Tubes $5 Weighted Tube Hooks $5 Senko (Green w/ Red Flake) $7 Owner EWG Hooks $5 Zara Spook $7 Strike King Burner Spinner in Sexy Shad $7 Buy all of this and you won't be disappointed. Good luck, I live in the south and this is what works down here Quote

I tryrd that too, I told myself I can only spend $ 75 and I came home with about $ 200 spent! I know the feeling. I stopped into BPS after work one day to pick up a couple packs of toad hooks while they were on sale for under 2 bucks. I think cool, I'll spend five or 10 bucks and be gone. I ended up spending like 75 bucks out the door.... Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted May 1, 2009 Super User Posted May 1, 2009 $40.00 bucks at BPS will only get you a handful of plastics. Senkos Jigs Craw worms Squarebill crank in Chartruse/Blue this time of year. This blows your budget, but the B/M will approve. Quote

fishbully 2.0 Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 Ok I meant a swimbait that isn't 40 dollars and made by daiwa haha Quote
FishingPirate Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Ok I meant a swimbait that isn't 40 dollars and made by daiwa haha Tall order for a decent hard swimbait. You could get some of the hollow swimbaits that run 7-10 dollars a bag and the hooks that are way over priced. Quote
