SuskyDude Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Just a few pics from the past couple weeks. This is my first time posting pictures, so if I screw up, go easy on me! Quote
brgbassmaster Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 wow how i miss river smallmouth fishing. nice fish. Quote
Irish_Bassman Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Ill be there in a week, and you are taking me to this place. ;D MAN how I miss my smallmouth. Florida is killing me. Great numbers of largemouth recently, but what I wouldn't give for a 2lb or so smallie on the end of my line. :'( Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 28, 2009 Super User Posted April 28, 2009 Is that right by Binghamton or more toward Owego and Waverly? I love that river, and I've only fished it once. I have a great smallie fishery here locally in the Yampa River, but the Susky is better. Not to mention lots of eyes, big muskies, cats, and pike. How do the Chenango and Chemung Rivers fish for smallies? Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 28, 2009 Super User Posted April 28, 2009 My only time fishing that produced some big smallies like that, a channel cat, and a follow from a 35" musky. And the river was in flood stage when I was fishing it. I think it was over 20,000 cfs when I hit it. Now it's only about 4000 cfs. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 28, 2009 Super User Posted April 28, 2009 I caught all the fish on curly tails and spinnerbaits. Do buzzbaits and topwaters work good when it's warmer? I love fishing buzzbaits against the current here on the Yampa. Pig smallies and pike crush them. Suskydude, what are your favorite lures for your namesake river? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 28, 2009 Super User Posted April 28, 2009 WOW! Those are some beauties. Quote
SuskyDude Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 Thanks guys! I'll post some more if you guys like gazing at pretty smallmouth (I know I do!) Iceintheveins- You're right the Susky is a great fishery. I'd sing the praises of it everyday, but "loose lips sink ships," as they say. I think I offered before, but if I didn't, if your ever out this way, PM me. I'll put you on some slampigs. Quote

I will probably come up there in the next couple of years, probably in late summer when the water is low. Quote
