I have a couple of questions about this.  What colors do you use and how are you rigging them?  I mostly use spinnerbaits in the spring but I want to try to increase my chances and have seen alot of posts saying that people are using them and was just wondering about this.

Thanks

When I fish lizards in the spring, I always Texas rig them. My most productive colors have been electric blue, red shad, watermelon.

Hope this helps,

Stanley Wedge Tail Lizards in Watermelon/Neon, Black/Blue, or Black/Neon; Texas Rigged for shallow water (15' or less) and Carolina Rigged for deeper water.

I like the Powerbait 6" pumpkin/chartreuse lizard rigged texas style, with a 1/4oz. weight or weightless, especially in the shallow areas like the backs of coves or where the new vegetation emerges in the spring time, crawling the lure along with some short slow hops.

eastkybass,  I have caught a TON of bass in Cave Run on Watermelon Chartruse Zoom lizard.  It works on all the lakes I fished when I lived in E. KY., ie, Yatesville, Paintsville, Dewey, Panbowl, Laurel ect, ect.

I use a lot of different styles of lizzards but the colors don't differ much, watermelon, pumkinseed, ones with chartruse tails, brown with black flakes. You'll find a variety of different colors work pick one and try.

The lizard is not just a spring bait. I use them in summer at night. They are killers at night on a t-rig or c-rig. I fish black, green pumpkin chart. junebug, red shad, :o :o :o;) ;) :) :)

I don't know what it is about the chartreuse pepper Zoom lizard, but it just seems to be a pretty consistent fish catcher for me.  It's kinda my confidence bait that I use on occasion - generally I like the lizards in redbug.

carolina rigged ive fallen in love with the 3x lizards.  the way they slowly float up off the bottom and then swim down when you move the bait is incredible.

that is about the only way i use lizards is on the c rig.

You find a wrong way to fish a lizard in the spring, post it here. I use them t-rig, c-rig, on a jighead, as a jig trailer, weightless, and intend to use one on a drop shot this spring. My fave colors run the gamut from GP to pumpkin chartreuse to junebug to watermelon to PB&J to black.

Watermelon/Chartruse is what I've had the most success with (wieghtless). I just started getting into bass fishing last year late spring... The lizard (zalemander) or as my buddies and I call her, "The Sally" was my go to bait as well.

I've got a cool success story for you lizard lovers out there

................Last summer I was on a vacation in Northern Michigan and I was just wading around casting a weightless lizard in some tall grass (that grass that comes way out of the water like giant dune grass) and my brother was just listening to the radio on the pontoon boat (he wasn't yet a bass addict) and he noticed a lot of ruckus coming from my general area... I was in the process of reelin in a 3.5 pounder while half underwater myself. He was impressed seeing that pig do a bunch of acrobatics like excited bass do and i proceeded to reel in a few more. Upon my arrival to the boat he said "come on, lets go to the store. I need to buy a pole"

So, in the end... i acredit the lizard for making yet another fellow bass fisherman!

good luK!
