Hey guys, This is still my first year fishing The new river for smallies.  I'm just trying to get a good idea of what is best to use this time of year.  Also i'd like to try to find out what kind of structure or depth I need to be fishing.  Should I go to fast or slower water?

Thanks in advance for your help (it is desperately needed :o)

i have had a little luck using pearl color flukes with a little weight to get them under the surface a little, 4" mister twister grubs (black) with 1/0 truturn hook and a split shot for weight white is also good this time of year, Bandit size 100 in crawfish/orange belly has been catching fish, size 2 mepp spinner-crome blade with 2" white twister for trailer, caught some on triksticks greenpumpkin and some times i'll use live bait.

after i got back from the roadtrip the bass started to spread out, they was in deeper holes of water and schooled up now they are comming closer to the bank and in smaller pockets of water that are about waist deep or swift water with eddies on each side and some rocks, the fish seems to be spread out more than they were a week ago. i do all of my fishing out in the river wadding , i see some people fishing in boats and some just bank fishing all seem to be catching fish. the redeye are starting to bite now. hope that helps a little.
