Super User retiredbosn Posted March 5, 2009 Super User Posted March 5, 2009 20" 19.5 a dink by comparison to what has been posted so far, here she is laying against my boat oar. She was released btw That's no dink! thanks Paul, I caught her out of the local river, it is a narrow river only about 30 yards wide where I caught her. Quote
Super User retiredbosn Posted March 5, 2009 Super User Posted March 5, 2009 The Greenbrier, I also fish the New some but not a lot. Last time I floated the river my back went out about half way down (that was an excurciating few hours waiting to get to the pullout), so now I spend most of my time on the lakes. Moomaw, Claytor, SML et. Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted March 5, 2009 Super User Posted March 5, 2009 Yes, that is a beautiful replica. The paint makes it -you need an artist for that. Very nice! And that fish might still be alive. Now that's stisfaction in my book. a whoppin 16 inches! lol. only smallies i got around here is a stream. BIG is relative. I know I don't need to tell you to be pleased with that fish. Quote
TeamBerettaGold Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Just a touch over 23", A great lakes monster for sure. Quote
Fish Chris Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Hey guys :-) Actually, I've never been much of a fish "measurer". Typically an accurate weighing and quick release is good enough for me. However, my PB of 8.5 lbs was measured by the young guy that C/R'd her the week before, and she was 24.5 inches {with a 22" girth} Based on her weight, length and girth, I think I have caught 4 or 5 Smallies of 24" or more. This one went 7.5 lbs, but had a more normal / long shape to her.... I caught one last year that was completely (freshly) spawned out, and went 8.2 lbs, which had to have been 25" to 25.5" in length. I'd like to catch that one again, but "pre-spawn" ;-) Peace, Fish Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted March 10, 2009 Super User Posted March 10, 2009 Chris, That first fish looks like a hybrid -a spotted x SM, or LM x SM. Could it be? Quote
