Here is a 29.71# Lake Erie limit. The guy fishing with me had a 25# limit. All fish survived. We caught over 40 fish each that day, it seems crazy that you would need to cull 5# smallies. The smallest fish were in the 3 pound range. The first pic is my PB 6.4 but we catch many many fish in the upper 5 lower 6 range! Sorry the pics are a little blurry I had to take pics with my digital from regular film!

Outstanding job out there! WOW! I wish I had an opportunity to fish Erie. What were you using, if I may ask?

Tubes, goby imitations and drop shotted senkos. Typical Erie smallie presentations. Drop shotting is a must when you lose the wind and waves. Sorry guys my daughter has been sick and I haven't been able to get up to the big lake and smash em yet. I have only been out a few times this year period and most have tourneys with no practice. And my results have been reflecting that. I will however Get up there ASAP and post up when I can. You can check out the fish across america pics and see a few good fish I have caught this year. I really have only ran my boat outside a tourney 2 or 3 times. It sucks but my daughter comes before fishing. And there is still plenty of year left fortunatly!

I HAVE to take come up there! I fish a lake here in Arkansas that has a lot of smallies. But it is very rare to catch a 5lber.

They are the ultimate fish to me.

Good job and post some more of those beauties if you catch some more.

Hey buddy,

When the water warms up a little, you need to fish Bull Shoals. In 2002 the water was nearly as high as it is now. The recruitment of that year's spawn was estimated to be 95% which is virtually impossible and unprecedented. ALL of the smallmouth from that year class should now weigh +/- 5lbs and all the bass I caught that year that have survived are now 6+ for sure!

This could be the best year for smallmouth fishing in the lake's history.

p.s.

My guide is Tim "Hot Dawg" Curtis...870-445-4175. Give him a call.

I am ashamed to say that one of my best friends has a loaded out Triton and fishes that lake every weekend and I have never been!! I have a place on Greers Ferryso it is so darn convenient for me to just go there.

BUT you have convinced me. Especially after this morning. My buddy and me caught 32 smallies this morning and not one was 3 lbs. I am not complaining but I sure would like to see some pigs like those above ;)
