Hey guys...

I've been fishing for 50-years, and fish the New River every chance I get, mostly along the NC/VA line.

I sure get tired of going alone... if anyone wants to catch some smallies... just send me a message.

You will need a canoe, kayak or pontoon boat (or you can rent one from a campground)... but the camping and fishing trip is absolutely free.   :)

I am a student at Virginia Tech and I would absolutely love to take a trip with someone with experience on the New.  I have fished it probably 10 times since I have been there but never from canoe.  The only problem is that I am at home for the summer.  Next year though I will most likely live there for the summer.  I go back in mid August so perhaps then?

If you weren't so far from NOVA I'd take you up on that. But the furthest I would be able to drive for that would be around the Radford area and even that is pushing it with a pregnant wife at home. If we can plan something where we could meet around that area I may take you up on that one weekend in the next month or two. But no promises. I'd have to work it out with the Mrs's. I've never fished the New but ever since I started smallie fishing I've been dying to go down there.

Ps: Radford is already a 3 to 3 and a half hour drive for me.  Is there any place around here that rents canoes?

Phishin Fillip: Send me a PM when you are able to fish, and we will get a trip set up. Fall fishing is great too!

JCrzy4Bass: I just don't fish that area of the New River at this time. How about a float trip much closer to you on the Shenandoah river?

Good fishing :)
