What type and make of line do you feel is the best All-Purpose line for Smallies?

What is the most versatile for fishing anything from soft plastics to Jerk Baits?

Before my health issues I used RW's YS in #6 on spinning reels and became a real fan. As for all the years of guiding for smallies on the rivers here before I gave it up, the last 7-8 years I used BPS Excel in #8 test green for all my client rods and it worked great. I still think its a great cold water line because of the stretch. Never had a problem with it.

Wow ! Talk about a loaded question.

Jerkbaits I use a spinning setup spooled with 10 lb Power Pro and a 12 lb leader.

Tubes, Grubs, Hula Grubs, and 4 inch stickbaits I also use a spinning setup spooled with 8 lb Sufix Elite clear.

Spinnerbaits on a Baitcaster with 30 lb Power Pro, no leader but colored black with a permanent magic marker.

Crankbaits, on a baitcaster spooled with 30 lb Power Pro and a 12 lb leader.

Wt'd plastics on a baitcaster spooled with 30 lb Power Pro and a 12 lb leader.

I mainly fish creeks for smallies and I just switched from Sufix Elite 6 pound mono to Berkly Vanish 8 pound floro.  Sufix is a great line but i like the floro a lot better.   It give you great sensativety making it good for everything from jerk bait to plastics.  It also seems like I get better hook sets.
