Swimbait dillema

I got all amped up over the swimbait craze over the winter and bought a bunch of different kinds.

I have 2-6 inch Huds and am afraid of throwing them for fear of losing them. They are just so nice looking,and actually on my budget they are pretty $$$ for a bait. Guess it could also be that I tossed em out a few times and when reeling them back in I just kept saying" Im a Dumb ol Trout." over and over trying to get the lazy trout swim thing right(I read that you have to be one with the bait). People on the bank mustve thought I was crazy,as I was saying it out loud(I was by myself in the boat,had to keep myself company) Anyways I didnt get any bites,so theres no confidence in this bait.

I know they cant catch fish if I dont use them but if I use them and lose em for whatever reason,Ill just cry.

Ive already dropped a Mattlures Crappie over the side of my boat while I  was having a Dumb-bass attack(if you get my drift). Wasnt paying attention when tying it on and somehow instead of cutting the tag line, I cut the main line and tossed the bait over the side. I then picked up my rod to prepare  for a cast and nothing was tied on...DOH!!!

So as far as the swimbait thing...If I fish them...Will they come?

try a mattlures baby bass not as expensive and a little smaller might help get more strikes and don't have to worry as much about losing it.

yup they do work....I have more luck on the 6" vs the 8" hudds...the thing with swimbaits is that  you need to be very persistent fishing them...a lot of guys will throw them all day and are stoked if they get a bite or two.  keep at it and you will get a fish...

Interested too... Are you referring to their "baby bass series" in largemouth bass color?  

Just wondering because im looking into them too

Losing baits is just the cost of doing business. If they arent getting stuck (at least occasionally), you probably are not fishing them correctly.

If you are in a boat and have a good plug knocker, you will lose very few baits during the retrieve.  

Keep banging those Huds.  The Mattlures bass is another excellent suggestion as well.

You can' be afraid to lose one or get it stuck. If you want to get bit you have to put it in the water. I know it sucks to lose one. I lost 4 hudds in one day! I even lost a couple of 3:16 prototype Wake Baits while night fishing from the bank.  :-[   Don't be scared, just chuck and wind

i haven't fished'em yet bc of the price issue myself.....

but from what im told by all others around me....

if you fish it ,, they will denfinetly come!!!!

which is why at my next outing to BPS, i will be purchasing one ;D
