Soft jerkbaits (Super Fluke Jr's) and Silver Buddies are always worth a shot ;)

Boett43,

If that is working I would not change to much.  But you can try it in a clown color.  Both Rapala and Lucky Craft have them.  A lot of the time it is not the color, it is the action of the bait, and IMO you are getting reaction strikes.

If it's working for you,  stick with it.  I also like their silver/gray black back jerkbait as well as their Rainbow trout pattern.  In the early spring I switch to a Perch and/or Fire Tiger patterns.

I agree with what has been said previously. One option you may try is by visiting Netcraft online. If you don't have their catalog, it's a worthwhile sign-up for sure. They are offering some LC suspending jerk knockoffs for about $3.00 each! Beautiful finishes and you can't beat the price! ;) Of course you have to supply the split rings and hooks. Lots of other great stuff there too!

You may want to add Smithwick's Rattlin Rogues when it warms up some! Since we fish similar waters, you'll do well on them as well!!!! Black and silver, blue and silver and firetiger colors work well for me on the Potomac.  ;)

Thanks Basser..have you been hitting the Potomac latley? ive been going down to The Pepco plant and getting skunked except for 3 pound smallie on a tube off that real big log structure...Thanks For the Suggestion Again

I like the heavier jerk baits with deeper lips. I can cast heavier lines and cast further. The lighter plugs do not run right with heavy lines but light line can't take the whipping casts I like to make with it.

Get some a little heavier if you want to experiment.

Lucky Craft USA

Pointer 1000SP  (suspending at 6-10 feet) 5/8 oz. 4"

These are about $15 each. Just buy one, you won't need any more than that.

i have tried almost every single jerkbait on the market and i would have to say the best i've seen are the lucky crafts.  no matter which one you buy you will always catch fish on it.  my fav colors are american shad and purple pack with white sides.  they may cost 15 $ a piece, but trust me its an investment thats worth it in the long run
