brgbassmaster Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 hey guys i just bought some of these from sportsmans 70%off sale and i was wondering how you guys fish these. i was thinking about fishing them in the bushes here and putting a small weight and a 4/0 hook with them, and pitch to bushes. what other ways have you all had luck? on a side note i couldnt believe how much plastics were left and at 70% off it was awesome got alot of good stuff that im suprised were there. also what hook do you use with the lake for live magic shad? Super User Micro Posted April 26, 2009 Super User Posted April 26, 2009 I like them as a simple swimbait. I like rigging them on a 3/0 EWG hook. I fish them weightless. Or I will rig them with a pegged bullet weight. Lately I've tried them on a 3/0 Owner weighted Twist Lock hook. They seem to perform best on these. Quote
SDoolittle Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Try using them as a trailer for swim jigs. Quote

soccplayer07 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I tried them the other day and did not like the action at all. I even used RW's recommendations (Gary's too) and still did not like the action. Will give them another shot soon before I make final decision. Quote
mase088 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I caught a fish on my first cast ever with one this weekend. Great bait. Quote

bassin is addicting Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 don't give up......i've had good luck with them. with either a light screw-in weight or a weighted hook, even weightless to get through cover well. just need to make sure you have them rigged straight for best action. heck, i've even used wacky style. they have fluke-like action and with paddle tail give good vibration too. Quote
tand Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I just got some too! They worked great for me. I used a 5/0 weighted screw in hook, a basic swim bait hook. 4 fish on 4 consecutive casts! I think they are a great search bait. Are the baits online at 70% off? I got mine at boater's world for 50% off. Quote
camman Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 IMO they suck when you use them by itself....I rather just use a senko and catch more fish. I have found the two best uses for them are either a trailer on a spinnerbait or a chatterbait... Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I like the regular Senko with the little paddle tail better! Quote

Captain Chaos II Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 These are fish catchers ... fo sho. Sometimes better than a regular senko when you aren't feeling impatient. Quote

How does he get it so far back w/o destroying the front of the lure? Quote

If I want to fish a pseudo swimbait I will toss a basstrix or something. They really don't have a following out here on the west coast though.... Quote

Super User Micro Posted April 28, 2009 Super User Posted April 28, 2009 I've tried rigging them with the hook way back like that. The front end gets pushed down, bends, and throws the whole action off. For me, rigging them that way never resulted in a fish and ruined several baits. Quote
