Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 I was walking around the Maryland Fishing Expo and one of the booths had the Terminator Hybrid Blade spinnerbait. Until now, I had yet to see one. The blade on this thing is crazy....so of course I bought one. Tried it out this weekend just to see if it performed as the video said it would. UNREAL is all I have to say. Burn it and it churns the surface like a buzzbait, slow it down and you can feel the blade pulse A TON through the rod. Didnt catch any fish, as the water was hovering around 40 degrees, but it seems to be a very promising lure IMO. Anyone else seen/purchased/used these baits yet? What do you think? Wayne Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 You wouldn't possibly have a photo of it would you ? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 16, 2007 Author Super User Posted January 16, 2007 http://www.terminatorlures.com/06pdfs/Hybrid_Press_Release.pdf There is the link to the Terminator press release. The blade is different, to say the least. The head is also turned on its side, flat, with an eye looking down towards the fish. Pretty cool Wayne Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 I went to that same expo! I saw the bait on Jimmy Houston Outdoors the other day and then again at the expo but I didn't get it. It looks like a great idea though. Jimmy was catching fish using it as a buzz and spinnerbait. Jimmy is the one that put the Hybrid Blade on a terminator during his show. Quote
Gorgebassman Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 That looks very interesting first time I have seen or heard of it guess I need to have one. Dont happen to know where there are any available for purchase over the internet? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 16, 2007 Author Super User Posted January 16, 2007 I havent seen them ANYWHERE, including Terminator's website. Thats why I was so excited to see them at this show. Its kinda cool having a lure that not many people have yet. After seeing this thing in the water, I will definitely be looking for some more as soon as I can. Wayne Quote
Papa_Tom Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Reminds me of the BPS Tornado, with some cosmetic differences. Should be easier to lift. Quote
Valascus Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I am sooooooo not a spinnerbait kinda guy, in fact, I stink with 'em. But, I do like the idea of a lure that is "2 in 1". The fact that I could use them as a spinnerbait or a buzzbait is great. Makes more room in my tacklebag for more stuff! Where I wonder if it is any good is in conditions that call for a tandem set of blades or for less vibration such as clear water situation where bass may be easily spooked. In those situations I have always that having flash was more important than vibration since the bass would be keying in the bait using sight more so than detecting vibration. But...it is a nifty idea. Let us know how it works out for ya. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Like Papa_Tom said, they look very much like the BPS Tornado. I have used the Tornado, which worked well. I've caught some very nice bass with the tornado (including a 6 lber two years ago) and I figure the Terminator Hybrid would work as well. The only thing I had trouble with using the Tornado was that I couldn't throw it anywhere near a weed. If I did, it would surely find it's way on my hook. Otherwise, great lure. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 18, 2007 Author Super User Posted January 18, 2007 Yeah, I can see your point with the weeds. The blade is angled pretty sharp. Most of the time I am banging timber with a blade, so hopefully its not a bust. Wayne Quote
Captain Cali Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Very interesting. Looks like a spinner-buzz bait to me. Quote

Wayne You must of attended the same Jimmy Houston seminar as me? I was wondering what that blade was myself? I know SFTackle was selling those spinnerbaits so contact George Accord and he can get you one. Allen Quote
The_Natural Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Hey look! A BPS Tornado! Shoestring Dubois would be proud . I never did try that Tornado, even though it has been out since the early 90's. Quote
Rob G. Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Slow rolling a Tornado in cold water works. More thump than a colorado. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Picked one of these up at the Worcester Expo. Saw it on Jimmy Houston's show too. I was hoping it would have a spinner blade underneath the hybrid blade. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I was hoping it would have a spinner blade underneath the hybrid blade. After looking at it again I guess that would be an easy fix. Quote
