Super User Gone_Phishin Posted April 26, 2009 Super User Posted April 26, 2009 About a month or so back I purchased several packs of Roboworm 4.5" straight tail worms off of Ebay. The guy I bought these from is evidently a HEAVY smoker. Not only do the plastic bags reek of stale smoke, but even the plastic worms smell a bit...and all the packs were unopened. I'm just wondering how stench will affect the fish. I have a tube of the old formula of Megastrike ready to go. I was even thinking of purchasing a tube of the new formula, with the garlic-like scent, and coating each worm before putting them in new bags. Am I going overboard here? Has anyone fished plastics that reek of stale cigs? I used to be a smoker, and puffed while I fished. But I would always wash my hands after each cig. Sometimes I'd even rub a scented plastic between my hands if I was still sketchy. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted April 26, 2009 Super User Posted April 26, 2009 I did the same thing awhile back. Try JJ's Magic( clear ) on them and you will not smell that smoke anymore. And after you use the JJ's you may want to get a pizza. ;D Quote
aarogb Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I would just put all the worms in a new plastic bag and put some of your favorite scent in the bag and make sure the scent covers ALL the worms. You should be covered after that. Quote

You should be covered after that. X2 Just put them in a new bag and squirt some of whatever scent you have in the bag and close it. Put the Megastrike on prior to use. If this still doesn't work, send them to me and I will dispose of properly. ;D Quote
Blue Streak Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I don't think it will be a problem at all. There is evidence that the odor of smoke does not repel bass, maybe they will like it. Quote

They created those coffee injected plastics right??? Maybe the fish would like some nicotine to go with their caffeine : Quote
