fishin_fool Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Yes The best techniques I use are the Mojo rig or carolina rig Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted May 15, 2005 Super User Posted May 15, 2005 I agree, I have boated many smallmouth on 6" black lizards and watermelon chart. ;D And I also agree on the C rig and a Mojo rig, I also use a lizard on a jig and that works great , try fishing a black or junebug lizard at night!!!!! : Quote
ernel Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 The current NC state record was caught on a live Salmander. It would stand to reason that the smallies would hit an artificial as well. Quote
kicken_bass Posted May 15, 2005 Author Posted May 15, 2005 Thankyou for the replies. i'm going to use your suggested rigs. Thankyou Quote
fishingrulz Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 i've heard smallmouth are fun to catch gotta try it! ;D Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 19, 2005 Super User Posted May 19, 2005 I've caught lots of smallmouth on C-rigged plastic lizards. My guides at Bull Shoals prefer the 4" version on a split shot rig, but what do they know? I fish the Yamaota 6" laminated lizards with 1/4 oz weight. Quote
