CStan442 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Hello to all. I am looking for some info around the Memphis/ Mississippi area on where to go fishing as my family just relocated here. I have a boat and some time right now, but I am a little confused on the local waters and frankly a little intimidated by the size of the reservoirs. Any help would be appreciated or if you want to fill the empty seat in my boat. I look forward to posting some reports when I get familiar with the lakes. Quote

lynyrdsky1 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Hey man welcome to the forum. You got alot of range down here from big to large. It seems like you don't want to go to the river or big reservoirs yet right? Well there's Horsehoe that is not an hour out of memphis and Lake View as well. There's Glenn Springs and Herb Parsons that are TWRA lakes but they are Idle only. Personally you could try the lower lake of Sardis or Try Enid they are not that bad. I would say Grenada but thats a 2 hour drive when you got Sardis and Enid on the way Quote
CStan442 Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 Thanx for the welcomes.... I did go to Herb Parsons on Tuesday, it was 3 to 5 ft all the way around the edges with no real drops. I fished for 2 1/2 hrs and caught one 12" white bass. I threw cranks, spinner baits and flipped some. Looks nice, but needs more depth. Thanks for the info, and I will look into those few I haven't heard of yet. Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Lake View is crazy on the weekends but a good spot to fish. I would say go to horseshoe. Quote

CStan442 Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 ok... good to know. I will be going there tomorrow to try it out. Thanx again! Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 You need to try the back of the run out if the water is high, hit the culver near the ramp, hit the sand ditch in front to the right of the ramp, and hit up down the cypress trees. Quote
CStan442 Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Dang.... didn't see this until after I went today. I spent most of my time in the trees and caught 7 chunky 15 to 16 inchers and lost a huge crappie at the boat. I tried to post a picture, but I need 10 posts. Next time....thanx Quote
