Hi All .... new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I am just north of 50 and live on the border of Central/Eastern Ma. I have been fishing for many moons but with both my boys pretty much on their own I hope to spend alot more time on the water. I mostly fish fresh water and enjoy fishing for bass and trout but would like to chase some other species like Northern Pike, Lake Trout, ect.

I have totally enjoyed fishing from my small jon boat for the past 20+ years but with what seems like my first summer with lots of free time I just ordered a new Alumacraft MV1756 SC with a 60 Yammi 4 stroke. My wife and I will get plenty of use out of it and my youngest (19 years old) and his pals are all die hards fishermen and will use it also.

Looks like a great forum of knowledgeable members, hoping for a good year.

Welcome Tate, I'm right next door in Bellingham and well north of 50, maybe we'll bump into each other someday. Good luck with the new boat.

Welcome Tate! For your first post, please consider sharing how you got a 19yr old on his own! ;D I've got a 21yr old that just came back home.

lol ..... "pretty much on their own" .... well perhaps an overstatement ..... perhaps no longer have to be around to keep an eye on things would be more appropriate.  Nothing else has changed in the 19 years except higher tuition bills and a bigger appetite!

Been a while since I've fished both of those places but they are great fishing. You won't be putting the new rig in Beaver Pond. There are tons of great fishing holes around though. Oh and don't forget Ronnie at Nipmuc for repairs..He's been honest with me for 30 years.

Same here with Ronnie ..... he has been great with me over the years as well.  Real nice guy, honest as the day is long, knows his trade inside out and is fair priced ..... can't ask for more than that!
