Hey everyone. The name is Tim.

I'm brand new to this forum and to fishing in general.

My uncles have always been into fishing and I never really got involved. About a year ago I started fishing on my own, after I spent a week in the pan handle in Florida. I bought this little Walmart cheap combo rod and just threw some raw shrimp out there. I honestly caught about 7 or 8 in a 4 hour span.

Needless to say, I'm hooked.

I'm 24 years old, I'm located in Howard County and I go to school part-time. I also work full time for a home building company.

I spent a lot of my free time at Tridelphia Reservior, centennial, and sometimes I make my way to Liberty.

I bought two of my own real reels, and have been casting decent ever since.

One is a stradic, the other is a baitcasting shimano citica. I like them both the same. I'm still getting the hang of the baitcasting.

I'm looking for someone to show me the ropes a little bit when it comes to fishing. I'm not very good. I get lucky a lot of the time.

I want to increase my catches though. If you have a boat that's a plus. I have a 12' jon boat with no title or registration.

That process is a real pain by the way.

So if you see a guy paddling his 12' green jon boat, that would be me.

Anyways e-mail me so we can shoot some back and forth. I can get some pointers and maybe a fishing partner.

Welcome to Bass Resource, Tim.  Since you are new to bass fishing you will want to check out the fishing articles and instructional information on this site.  On the bar at the top of the web page to the left you will see the tab for Fishing Articles.  Click on that and you will find a great deal of useful information.

Thanks I appreciate it guys. I've actually been fishing bass for about a year now. I have a few basics. I'm not a worm guy. I like the artificial stuff. It seems to work a lot better for me.

Welcome to BR, always good to see other guys from Maryland.

Take a look in the Northeast section, there is a long topic for Maryland Who's Who. Some good information in there about our state and those of us in the area.
