Super User N Florida Mike Posted January 6, 2021 Super User Posted January 6, 2021 I fish both , but fish the trick worm more. I dont do well with the magnum finesse worms for some reason. Ive done good with the trick worms., especially june bug, watermelon red and watermelon seed colors. I generally catch smaller fish with the finesse worm I fish trick worms with a 3/0 hook , wide gap or straight shank , and either weightless or with a bb shot. I go to a 2/0 with finesse worms... Super User roadwarrior Posted January 6, 2021 Super User Posted January 6, 2021 Neither for me. I catch too many little fish and would never target more. Don't care a thing about getting skunked either. I know the next Good'un is just a cast away and it might be a Big'un, too! Quote

I usually use the tail end and slit it in half leaving about an inch or so uncut to go onto the jig. Havent used this on a full size jig but its done alright as far as numbers go on booyah baby boo jigs. 1 Quote

I noticed that the trick worm had a great action on a stand-up jig head I have a skirted micro finesse jig I thought might be good to rig it on 1 Quote

Super User DitchPanda Posted January 8, 2021 Super User Posted January 8, 2021 I don't really fish the finesse worm opting for a Berkley bottom hopper and a roboworm instead. Now the trick worm I love...in fact I throw it weightless almost as much as a senko. 1 Quote
MGF Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 I haven't put one on a jig but using worms as jig trailers is something I'd like to experiment with this coming season. 1 Quote

Not on a skirted jig, but I use the tail section of a trick worm on a hair jig the majority of the time I throw one. When the nose of one gets torn up, I just toss it in a ziploc with others and use them as trailers and for drop shotting. 1 Quote
