Hello all.  I'm a new member from Colorado, was  born and raised on great trout waters, and spent the first 35 years of my life fly fishing.  That is until I was introduced to bass fishing.  It's now taken over my life--I've sold my bow (archery hunter), my fly rods, and have added a boat and several new rods to my "stuff".  I'm starting to paint my own crankbaits, and have been looking at the impressive work on this site by some of the members.  The only question I have is what do you crankbait makers uses as a final glossy coat to give your baits the shine?  Thanks for the help.  Look forward to talking to you.

welcome aboard colobass!  Loads of great info here on the site I am sure you will like it a lot.  I can't answer your question on what finish coat the crankbait guys are using on their paint jobs but I know if you post that question in the Tacklemaking forum someone will be more than happy to help you out.

Welcome colobass. What part of Colorado are you in? I'm in the Denver area and fish a lot of front range waters as well as making lots of longer trips in the summer...CoBass
