Slow30th-TA Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I have done right much reading on this site the last month or so and finally decided to join. Good information already obtained but ready to learn even more. I fish the James River right often and Chickahominy river runoffs, more like the swamp sections in Henrico. Tommorrow I plan to fish the pond near my work on Southlake Blvd. Glad to join Bass Resource! Quote

Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 21, 2010 Super User Posted October 21, 2010 Welcome , it's right nice to have you here !!!!!! Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 21, 2010 Super User Posted October 21, 2010 Slow, great having you with us. Ask your questions and you will get lots of great advice. As for the pond on Southlake, it is not that good. At least for artificial baits. Try some nightcrawlers and minnows. Try fishing all around the pond, especially the shoreline where you can cast to the small island. The other pond, towards DMV, never has produced one bite for me so forget that one. Lots of bream in the Southlake pond but give it a shot and let us know how you do. Quote
Super User bassfisherjk Posted October 21, 2010 Super User Posted October 21, 2010 Hello,Welcome to the site. Quote
Slow30th-TA Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Thanks guys for the warm welcome. Sam, today on my lunch break I fished at the pond on Lucks Lane near St. Francis, saw plenty of bream but did not catch any bass. After work its Southlake pond. I will report back upon fishing there. Super User Sam Posted October 23, 2010 Super User Posted October 23, 2010 Slow, thanks for the input on that big pond off Lucks Lane. I have always wanted to fish it but never had the time. It looks beautiful and there just has to be some nice ones in that body of water. Let us know how you do at Southlake. Have you tried the big pond behind the Martin's grocery store off Huguenot Road by Forest Hill Avenue? Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted October 24, 2010 Super User Posted October 24, 2010 Welcome, i'm a little bit away to your north 8-) Quote
Slow30th-TA Posted October 25, 2010 Author Posted October 25, 2010 Hit the southlake pond about 5:20 and fished until dark. I caught one bass, cant get the picture uploaded but he was the only one. Probably 2 lbs. Another guy was there catching right many crappie from this one spot. He stayed after dark and I believe was keeping his for a meal. Sam - I've never fished at the pond behind Martins Grocery Store. Maybe that will be the next spot I try. I live close to Patriots landing and work in Midlothian. I want to try those ponds out there but I am not sure if the public is allowed. Quote
