Probably the newest of the newbies here.. just getting my feet wet (so to speak) - not even sure what questions to ask or where to begin but I am lucky in that I have a fantastic teacher :) My first experience on the river was last week and I'm 'hooked'.. can't wait to go out again  :D

Hi Deb, thanks for the warm welcome and "warnings" LOL .. no worries.. my "other" hobby is I'm a medieval re-enactor who's specialty is historical fencing (epee/schlaeger)!!

I'm rather hyped right now..just returned home from a day spent on Rob's boat and I almost reel'd in my biggest yet.. looked like possibly a 3.5 pounder before she jumped off the line!! I'm learning a little more each time we go out..

I guess you could say I'm more "hooked" than the smallies we reel in  8-)

Thank you for all the warm welcomes.. tonight I attend my first tournament (not fishing in it - 'yet' - just attending) and then this weekend is riverfest.. If anyone has any tips on setting the hook - I'd love to hear them.. still trying to master that.. (my catches keep swallowing the hooks)

Welcome Lynda! I'm in NEPA also, right in the Water Gap outside Milford. The Delaware is a great smallmouth water and a lot of the smaller electric only lakes put up some good LMB. Have fun & good luck!

I'm being taught on the Susquehanna river which I'm told learning on a river is probably the most difficult place to learn on.. but its not going too bad.. trying to learn the different lures and when and where to use them, how to set - and working on my cast - not to mention a crash course in meteorology! LOL.  I was amazed though - how many similarities there were between the boaters safety course I took - and private pilot safety/pre-flights, etc..

Thank you all again! The people here are not only welcoming but helpful and being new, believe me - its very much appreciated. I can't even begin to put into words how much fun I've had this past summer fishing the Suskie Wednesday series as well as the Monday series and I'll admit, making to the championship at both - really "reeled" me in :) I got my first 2 fishing trophies this past summer and placed 7th in the Suskie championship and 4th in the Monday team tournament. Now, I'm like a sponge - I want to learn more, get involved more and expand my contacts and affiliations. This is a life I never thought I'd be involved in.. but I thank the heavens this door of opportunity opened - because I'm "hooked"
