JohnMD Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Hi, just moved to downtown Albany,NY from Maryland. Started to pick up bass fishing while I lived in Maryland but before I could get comfortable, I had to move to Albany for work. Now I'm looking forward to doing some fishing while the weather is good. Anyone have any recommendations for people just starting out? Don't own a boat or kayak, cause I would just rent them at the lake back in MD. Anything similar here? Thx Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Welcome John...I'm originally from Upstate NY about 50 miles west of Albany. The Hudson and Mohawk each have lots of access for bank fishing. Lake Lonely is a small lake near Saratoga Lake that had a private marina with small boat rentals for cheap. That was few years ago but I think they're still there. PM or email me and I might be able to be more specific on some spots. Mike Quote
culprit71 Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Welcome to the site, I'm new to the forums as well. Just wanted to add that you are in an excellent fishing area with bass fishing at your finger tips. Adirondacks are so close and you have many bodies of water around you....I'm jealous Quote
