I have been lurking for some time now and decided to join the other night. I live Northwest Alabama minutes away from Pickwick, so that is the area I fish the most. We usually fish between Colbert Steam Plant and Cypress Creek at Florence. This time of year we are mostly catching stripe and crappie but I love to catch bass. It was a bit windy this afternoon but did manage a couple smaller largemouth and several nice stripe. We are always learning and seems like every time we go out we find out something new. For instance today we were trying to get out of the wind so we went up next to the big Limestone bluffs just above Sheffield and picked up one of the largemouth. The best I can remember that was the first time i have caught anything off the bluff. Anyway, yall do an excellent job on here with the tips and pointers and I always find myself taking notes.

First off welcome to the board.  This is, in my opinion, one of the best forums in regards to bass fishing.  I see that you're already a good fisherman because you have been able to catch fish.  Now that you're a member, you're going to keep learning and building on your previous knowledge.  Anyways welcome to the board.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I apologize for putting the thread in the wrong forum. I had  completely overlooked there being an introduction forum.

I have to agree with ya'  There is alot of information to be learned from others here.  I've been on just a short while and I've got pages of tips I've been given by members on here and it's top notch information.  Only hope I can help as much as I've been helped.  Just ask and it'll be answered.  Good fishin' this season to ya'.  John.

Welcome from south central IN! Last time I fished PicWick we had a blast catching smallies on safety pin salt and pepper grubs. Several over 5lbs. Makes me want to go back!
