hiker Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 heheheh, well, not too snobby to recognize that I think this bass fishing thing looks like fun. I hope to learn a lot and maybe make a friend or two here. (Actually I find lots of fly fisherman to be a little embarrassing due to their acting like a bunch of primadonnas. The bass crowd seems to be more my speed.) Quote
Super User senile1 Posted November 3, 2009 Super User Posted November 3, 2009 Welcome, hiker! There are prima donnas in just about every large group of people, but you'll find this is a pretty good place to hang. Quote

swilly78 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 This makes me think of one of my favorite quotes: Bass fishermen watch Monday night football, drink beer, drive pickup trucks and prefer noisy women with big breasts. Trout fishermen watch MacNeil-Lehrer, drink white wine, drive foreign cars with passenger-side air bags and hardly think about women at all. This last characteristic may have something to do with the fact that trout fishermen spend most of the time immersed up to the thighs in ice-cold water. ~Author Unknown SORRY! I couldnt help myself! Welcome to the best site on the net'! Its full of great people, and an AWESOME amount of info! Quote

Maybe I need to stay away from the bass then, because if I think about the women any more than I do, my productivity will just about go to nothing! BTW, I'm in Colorado. Quote

Super User Gatorbassman Posted November 8, 2009 Super User Posted November 8, 2009 Dude, welcome to the best there is. I'm a fly guy to. Grew up tying flies and fly fishing North Georgia and took yearly trips to Henry's Fork and the Snake River with my family. But bass fishing is where it's at. Have you ever caught a 5lb bass on a 5wt. It's something that needs to be experienced once in a trout fisherman's life. Quote
