bwell Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Hi everyone, I am from Central IL and just came across this website. I have been fishing all my life, and have read some very good info here. I mainly fish in a pond by my house (awesome bass fishing!) but also like to go to other surrounding lakes. Believe it or not but I have had really good luck with Banjo minnows when it's a little colder out, but other than that its buzz baits, spinners, and crankbaits for me. Anyways just wanted to say hi, I am looking forward to learning some more on the site! Quote

FordNFishinLover Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Oh our schools track? Its handy having that for public access, since i can use it to jog on anytime i want. Umm, our town lake of charleston is horrible. Mattoon lake where is about 20 minutes away from me is fair for crappie and you can get some decent bass. Shelbyville lake has some great fishing for bass, crappie, Musky, and walleye down on the river there. I've heard numerous things of newton lake near us and its suppost to be the HOT spot in winter since its a heated lake. Def want to start hitting this place up. Quote
BenoBreath Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Howdy! You've come to the right place! Quote

I have fished Lake Mattoon with little to no luck, I have hear really good things about Lake Shelbyville. Newton lake looks cool, I have a small 10' Pelican bass boat with trolling motor and portable fish finder I should take there sometime. I am looking for a 3.5 hp outboard because I am always afraid of running out of battery lol. If are up for some fall/winter fishing let me know. Quote
swilly78 Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I have an old Sears 3hp that hasnt been started in 30 years sitting in my garage. I dont know if its broken, repairable, or what, but since Im not a mechanic, I will not be trying to mess with it. If your ever going to be in the greater Chicagoland area, and you want it, its yours. Just send me a pm. Quote
