Blue Streak Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 If I could only use one bait anywhere anytime it would be a Kalin's or Chompers 3 to 5 inch curly tail grub on a jig head. Quote
Super User CWB Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 Green Pumpkin Senko. That's it. I am a believer. Read my mind. T-Rig or weightless it will catch fish shallow to deep, Skip under docks, shimmy down into weeds, wacky rig where you might pitch a jig etc. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 yamamoto double tail hula grub in green pumpkin, black flake. can fish it so many different ways. weightless, t-rig, c-rig, jig it, swim it, bounce it off bottom, even could pinch tails off, fish it backwards like a grub if needed. guitarkid Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 It would depend on the water, and the time of year. All my fish this year have been on two baits: crankbait and suspending jerkbait. It won't be like that in a month. X3 this time of year- a Black/silver daiwa peanut In a couple months- A green pumpkin or motor oil trick worm -gk Quote
Ballpark Frank Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Usually I would say a T-rig 6" lizard, but not the past few weeks. My backup favorite has been doing the business though, a RI Sweet Beaver in Hematoma on a 1/4oz RI Screwed-Up jighead. I have caught decent fish every outing(at 6 different areas) on this rig. Quote

It won't be like that in a month. Exactly. So let's say I'm going tomorrow. I'd grab one of my crankin' rods and a shad colored square bill crank (a custom flat crank I bought on ebay). A jig or lizard would work well also, but I can burn water with the crank. Quote
Primus Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Yamamoto hula grub on a 1/4 oz jighead, swim it, hop it or drag it you will get bit. Those who want to get started fishing a jig should consider starting with this one, the fish rarely let it go. Quote
