nacsa Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I've got some 0 feet lure, but I've never catch bass with them. Which is the factors ehen these lures can be perfect weapons like subwart, roumba, small fry bream, yo Zuri bugbug, ss minnow, etc? Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted April 15, 2009 Super User Posted April 15, 2009 shallow, warm, weedy water! by the way, these are called wake baits, not sub surface cranks. sub surface cranks go UNDER water, not wake the surface. Quote
kms399 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 sub wart is one of my favorite cranks. I also throw a lot of baby ones and I just picked up a few of the manns wake and baby wakes. I find the best time is when the lilly pads are just below the surface for one and another is when you are in shallow 3-5 feet of water fishing around trees. you can crank right over the top of the tree and bump into it where ever you can. If you vary your retrive, crank, twitch, pause, crank, pause, crank fast, twitch change direction as much as your rod will allow that also seems to work great for me. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 I'm catching a lot of fish right now in water temps <50°F. The one that has really shined is a Duo Slaver Crank SR55, as shown in my avatar: Quote
jacker Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I do really good with the sebil double jointed wake bait, forgot the name sorry it works really well for me in cold to hot water, mainly fished as close to walls and ledges as i can. I like it becuase when the waters warm, it can be fished very fast making for some explosive aggresive strikes on the surface. And can also be fished very very slow for lethargic fish. Quote
andamtoft Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I love the subwart, I throw this bad boy in shallow warmer water around the same time of day id throw a topwater. its best when the weeds are just low enough so that you dont get snagged. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 I have had rather good success with the Mann's Elite waker Quote
