cadman Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Heard about this site a while ago, and finally had time to join. I know quite a few of you from other sites. You will see me poking in the tacklemaking forum, and hope to help answer some questions regarding making lead jigs and powder painting. Referred to this site by "Looks Like Sinbad". Quote
Big-O Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Welcome to ya cadman, your name sounds like you might have some experience with "autocad"...I make my own stuff too. Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
cadman Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Big-O, Actually, I started out with Auto Cad, then Cadkey and now Solidworks. Along with that, I've used some CNC sheet metal software. I am a sheet metal designer and programmer. In my spare time, I am an obsessed jig maker, powder painter and also a fisherman. Mostly bass and walleye. BTW thanks to everyone who has welcomed me here. Quote

But it gets the job done. Big O Quote
cadman Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Big-O, If you are referring to Solidworks, then I will tell you one thing, I would never go back to any other software. Solidworks has so many excellent features, for sheet metal, all the flat blank layouts, Cosmos for stress analysis, and I do know they have a machining package, which I don't have since I don't use it. But I design all my stuff with it even fishing jigs and hook fits. I just would not be without it. Supposedly Pro -E is really good, but I have heard some negative comments about it. I can't say one way or another since I don't use it. But you will always have your Solidworks guys, your Pro-E guys and your Auto Cad guys. Quote
