Super User J Francho Posted April 13, 2009 Super User Posted April 13, 2009 I too like the GYCB double tail and single tail grubs - and not just for swimming jigs. Something we do for northerns, but have caught bass on is using a swimbait on a jig as a trailer. We used Big Hammers: http://www.***.com/descpageSWMBIGHAM-BHSBT.html Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted April 13, 2009 Super User Posted April 13, 2009 I use the Gene Larew Crawworm for most of my trailers. If the water has a little color put a green pumpkin with orange pinchers on a brown jig and give it a try. Works great down here. Quote
JT Bagwell Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 For swim jigs I love the 5" Yamamoto single tail grub. For flipping and pitching jigs I use the 5" Yamamoto Double tail grub. Or as my 2 year old calls them, Gwubs. JT Bagwell Quote
Big Tom Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I personally like the Rage Tail Craws or Zoom Super Speed Craws. Both baits have incredible claw action. The Rage Tails are a bit more durable but they are more expensive per pack as well. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 14, 2009 Super User Posted April 14, 2009 I just got these from Rage Tail: http://www.ragetail.com/ragetailchunk.html These are EXACTLY what you need! 8-) Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 14, 2009 Super User Posted April 14, 2009 Believe it or not plastic FROGS make excellent trailers; picture them little legs just a kicking Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted April 14, 2009 Super User Posted April 14, 2009 Believe it or not plastic FROGS make excellent trailers; picture them little legs just a kicking x2 and don't ever swim a jig around pads or shallow submerged brush with a frog as a trailer either Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 14, 2009 Super User Posted April 14, 2009 Fast action claws go with Rage Tail. Slower action claws go with Paca Craw and Zoom. I like craws but anything you want should be appropriate. Give it a look the bass have never seen before, too. Quote
rondef Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Depending on the size of the trailer you want I would go with Rage Tail, either the chunk, craw or lobster. Quote
Super User CWB Posted April 14, 2009 Super User Posted April 14, 2009 Tough to beat the Rage Craws action. That would be my first pick on any jig. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted April 14, 2009 Super User Posted April 14, 2009 Single tail 4 or 5" grub that matches the jig. Allen Quote
