Although I signed up here about a month ago, I'm a newbie to the forums.  39yrs old, 5 kids, 2 dogs, fishing is priceless therapy (oh, and a wife).  A good friend of mine (memo43, both of us are Marines) introduced me to this web site.  I grew up in Alaska, Alabama, spent time all over the U.S. and fished in every place I've lived, in every water type.  Up until this past August, all my life I have used night crawlers to catch bass.  For some odd reason I decided to finally buy a baitcaster, another friend of mine recommended Quantum, so I baught a Quantum E760PT and Quantum rod, maybe not the best choice for a beginner, but I have learned very well on it.  Memo43 and I have learned to use the baitcasters and artificial lures and baits to the point where we never leave the water without having caught bass.  Bottom line, I have never caught so many bass, at such good sizes.  I am in the process of educating my 11 year old daughter in the use of artificial baits as well, and she is catching on very well, she can jig better than me :)  This forum is a great place to learn anything and everything about using equipment and catching bass.  I fish mostly all of the lakes, ponds, rivers and streams accessible on Quantico.  I am boatless right now, but that will soon change.  So kudos to all of you willing to share your knowledge, memo43 was even given a baitcast rod and reel through this network of diehard hawg catchers.  Thanks to all.
