JL Zingg Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Although I signed up here about a month ago, I'm a newbie to the forums. 39yrs old, 5 kids, 2 dogs, fishing is priceless therapy (oh, and a wife). A good friend of mine (memo43, both of us are Marines) introduced me to this web site. I grew up in Alaska, Alabama, spent time all over the U.S. and fished in every place I've lived, in every water type. Up until this past August, all my life I have used night crawlers to catch bass. For some odd reason I decided to finally buy a baitcaster, another friend of mine recommended Quantum, so I baught a Quantum E760PT and Quantum rod, maybe not the best choice for a beginner, but I have learned very well on it. Memo43 and I have learned to use the baitcasters and artificial lures and baits to the point where we never leave the water without having caught bass. Bottom line, I have never caught so many bass, at such good sizes. I am in the process of educating my 11 year old daughter in the use of artificial baits as well, and she is catching on very well, she can jig better than me This forum is a great place to learn anything and everything about using equipment and catching bass. I fish mostly all of the lakes, ponds, rivers and streams accessible on Quantico. I am boatless right now, but that will soon change. So kudos to all of you willing to share your knowledge, memo43 was even given a baitcast rod and reel through this network of diehard hawg catchers. Thanks to all. Quote
