hoosierfisherman Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 As I'm new to this forum (this is my first post!), I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself, and start off with a good ol' fishing story. (And yes, I just hustled to make 10 posts so I could post pics ) Pretty new fisherman here. Loving it soooo much and am not too bad so far I'm looking into getting a small boat so I can get to some better spots. Anyways, on to the fishing story! --------------------------------------------- Soooo, the other week when I was on vacation, I went fishing with my dad. We were in the middle of nowhere and decided to fish just out from under this bridge that was about 30 feet above the river below. Well, I'm fishing away and hear this car drive by overhead, then this heavy crashing through the trees right above me. I bolt for under the bridge, thinking someone had thrown something from the car into the river!! I make it a few feet, turn around, and see this right behind where I had just been fishing!!! Needless to say, I was like :-?, then like , followed by many prayers of thanks!! A few moments later we heard a fawn calling for it's mother Anyways, it appears what happened is the deer was standing in the middle of the long bridge and had been scared into jumping over the side when a car drove by. It then plummetted to it's demise right behind me. Here's a picture of me and the deer: Here's a picture of the deer zoomed in from the bridge: Finally, my dad had set his pole down when all this was going on. When he pulled it up, there was a sunfish on the line! I checked with my good friend who is an actuary ( :-B ), and he said that I was more likely to get hit by lightning three times than have a deer fall from the sky and kill me. I guess I won't be telling my insurance man about this. Quote

hoosierfisherman Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 Did you get any meat from it? Nah. We were down a fairly steep slope and didn't want to haul it up. We called the DNR and let them pick it up. Sure was fun telling that story! 2-3 feet the other way and you'd be reading about me in the paper! Quote

hoosierfisherman Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great story! Is your face blocked out for a reason ? Well, unfortunately my stunning good looks have a tendancy to attract large throngs of attractive, young women - to my wife's dismay. So, I promised her that I would refrain from tempting them and cover it up. I'm sure the owners of BR are equally grateful since the posting of my magnificent mug would certainly cause the resultant traffic to crash the servers. BTW - did I mention that I'm selling the Brooklyn Bridge? Quote
