Hi all! Joined a couple days ago. Was online actually browsing for a boat which I'll get sooner or later, really just looking to see whats out there, prices and the like and I stumbled across this site. WOW! What a load of info and what seems like a great bunch of folks. I've been fishing river smallmouths since I was maybe 8 (30 now) here in the northwoods (WI) and have had a few good tangles with Mr Largemouth. As I get older, I see more charm in fishing those smaller ponds and lakes, fishing docks and lily pads.

Im good with the fly rod, adequate with spinning tackle and just a rank beginner with casting gear. I have a casting reel on the way so I'm going to learn this stuff! Jumping in with both feet! I've learned so much in the short time here, hopefully I can add to the mix!

Anyway, just wanted to say hello to everyone!

Welcome  to the list. I joined two years ago with the same background, 35 years fly fishing, spinning when I was with family, and no casting. In two years the bait monkey has walked me by the hand to a bass boat, 11 rods & reels, and gear bags full of baits and fishing accessories. I think this tournament style bass fishing is much more of a drain on cash resources than fly fishing, and it was expensive. Of course, I don't have to listen to the bait monkey. :) SURE!

Welcome to the group Flywatersmallie, and glad you're here. There are are many here that can use your knowledge of fly fishing, I'm sure.  So well make an even trade...how'bout it.    ;)

When anyone goes fly fishing with me, they always catch a ton of fish.  They just stand on the other side of the lake and when I scare all of the fish away from me, they start catching them!

Welcome!

Welcome aboard :), learn to fly fish is the one thing I still need to do before I get to old (41 now).
