scooter11 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 hey everybody, im scott and im new to the forum. im from the boston area and went to school in nc. ive spent almost all of my time fishing smaller ponds from the banks. ive only been fishing at big lakes off a boat a few times with little success. i feel at home around weed beds and lily pads, conversely, feeling lost in deeper water. i joined this forum to learn and hopefully take my bass fishing to the next level. maybe start getting out on some of the bigger lakes around mass and nh. ive already been reading a ton of the posts and theyve helped me learn alot. with that said im sure you guys will be hearing from me in the future. Popeye Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Welcome Scott!! My oldest son's name is Scott! I wanted to name him Scotty after the character on Star Trek but my wife insisted I name him James after me and my Dad. So I named him James Scott and we have always called him Scotty nonetheless. BR is the BEST bass fishing forum on the Net, IMO:o) Quote

fishizzle Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Welcome and Hello from CT You're not alone feeling lost in deep water Most bass fisherman feel most at home chunking towards shore at stuff they can see fishing for the 10% of bass near shore. 90% are behind you but the 10% are easier to catch. Here's what I suggest--drop shot in deepwater cover and structure until you catch your 1st fish, then go to that spot every time you go out on that lake. When you catch more bass there, your deepwater confidence will be way up. Of course electronics are a must to find spots. Then you can experiment in other spots and lakes to continue that pattern. Thats how I learned. Good luck Quote
