Hello guys, I'm new to this forum, good looking site for bass fishing. I'm from Indiana, a little too cold here still. I'll be going to lake Fork for the 1'st time from March 31 to April 7. I'll be overwhelmed by the size of the lake and a new lake, so any tips and suggestions would be appreciated. Does anybody know what the water temp. is running? what coves have good grass flats? Thanks, SkilletSizeBass

Welcome.

Just read, read and read some more.

Ask, ask and ask some more.

The answers are here, somewhere.

Check out the forum's section about fishing Indiana and post your question about the bodies of water you want to fish on that site.  You will receive a lot of replies and good advice.

Be sure to post your outing results and details so we can learn from what you do.

Stay tuned and monitor the "2nd annual BassResource.com roadtrip" sticky.

GBF,

Lake Fork is about 80 miles east of Dallas. It is 'special' because...It holds the current Texas record of 18.18 (yes, I know, WR was caught in Georgia), 35 out of the top 50 bass recorded in Texas have come out of Fork, more share-a-lunkers have come out of Fork than any other lake in Texas (SAL is a 13# + bass donated to the TPWD for breeding), I personally have caught more 8 and 9 # bass out of that lake than all the other lakes I have fished combined. It is only a 6 hour drive for me, but I'll do it 5 - 6 times a year. My facts might not be 100% correct but they are close. All I can say is "TRY IT, YOU'LL LIKE IT" ;)

Oh, by the way, welcome Skillet, I'll let you know when I hear anything new.
