Hello everybody, I am a new member and also a new bass fisherman, my previous fishing experience has been catfishing but I feel it is time I try catching bass. Got a baitcasting rod and reel and a Texas rig setup from one of the local guys here and I am ready to hit the water this weekend.

Any advice for this newbee?

I have been reading some of the articles in this site. I will be seeing you around.

Welcome to the forums! This is a great place.

The best advice i can give you fishing a T-rig this time of year is to fish it SLOWLY. So slow that you will wish you brought a novel to read. The slower, the better. (And if you live north of texas it is even more inportant.)

see you on the forums ;)

Welcome to the forum Little Luey. Reading the articles on the site is a good place to start. Also, you can do searches of the forum on about anything for more info. In addition, post a question when you feel the need there are a lot knowledgeable fishermen and ladies here.

Howdy dude,

All I know about Arizona bassin' is that it is very different from Florida.

Check out the "fishing locations" forum and click on your area.

Good luck and have fun.

Welcome to a truly fun and learning experience. As Bucketmouth said, fish slowly this time of year. Also,be patient.Don't judge your fishing trip on how many you catch(and release,I hope).Think of it as a learning experience, and any bass you catch is just gravy!

Cant wait to see your results, welcome aboard. Here is a little advice from you that you will eventually hear on here anyway (just to help you along a little bit):

Buy a scale.

Get a camera to take pics of fish.

Buy Gary Yamamoto Senkos.

That should start you on you BassResource.com way....
