riverfisher Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Box arrived yesterday. I will have it back out in the mail after work today or tomarrow in the AM. I nabbed a few things and put in a bunch of NEW stuff. There were a few things in there not really useable and taking up quality space and they got tossed. Sorry I really couldn't see anybody using them at all. Quote
chromedog Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Ok, I wanted to make sure I wasn't being over-critical. I had the desire to throw a lot of it out. But I figured it wasn't my call. I know you threw out the bag of poop that was in there. > But you are right some of it was so bad no one would want it. I will say this, looking back through the progression, I can say this much, the person that took the baitcaster, did not did not do the right thing! Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted March 17, 2011 Super User Posted March 17, 2011 I kinda alluded to this in my post...... That was the mention of NEW things! Count me out on the rest of these swaps! Jeff Quote
crankbait2009 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 WOW, i have never participated in a lure swap before and wasnt sure what to expect....... this doesnt sound good at all >, i havent recieved the box yet but man, lot of dissapointed members here :'( well, hopefully ones in the future are better than this one....... :-/ Quote
chromedog Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I completely understand and know what you mean. Not fair at all to fishn. Quote
hookingem Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I've been watching this thread throughout all of its stages, and if you're going to take a reel out of the swap you'd think you would be unselfish enough to at least put something in someone else could actually use.. If you get another one going I'm in! I'll start the box if anyone is intersted in doing it again? PM me Quote
riverfisher Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I know you threw out the bag of poop that was in there. ! Looked like the little nuggets that just won't flush!! hahahahaha ;D Quote
chromedog Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I purposely left that cause I thought no one would believe me unless they seen it. Quote
brushhoggin Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 wow, i cant see how people are already looking forward to another one. maybe if they knew the rules would be different.... Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 17, 2011 Super User Posted March 17, 2011 I thought I put in some great stuff :-[ :-X :-/ I can't tell if that is sarcastic or not. Following along with the thread, seems like ol' BC made out like a bandit. Quote
Stasher1 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 d**n shame, really. I was on board to do the first Lure Swap, but bailed out when the box got "lost". Stuff like this is the exact reason I won't take part in another one. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted March 17, 2011 Super User Posted March 17, 2011 I thought I put in some great stuff :-[ :-X :-/ I can't tell if that is sarcastic or not. Following along with the thread, seems like ol' BC made out like a bandit. Sure appears to be that way. I'm glad I didn't participate in this one. Lure swaps shouldn't be used as a trash bag to toss in your old, rusted, beat up junk. If something has been used a few times and is still in good shape, no problem. Nobody wants an old rusted crank that you found hanging from a tree at the lake. Quote
Stasher1 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I think, in the future, it should be specified during the initial setup of the Lure Swap that only new lures are to be placed in the box. I don't see anything wrong with the used reels, sunglasses, etc., though. Sometimes people have different ideas regarding what is, or isn't, "good" condition. Quote
BassThumb Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Perhaps in the future, there could be a policy where each participant would preferably take pics or at least make a detailed list of the items they are adding and removing, and would post the pics/list in the thread to allow the other participants to either veto or accept the swap. The chance are if you don't know the name of an item, it's not something worth trading. This way, it would be fair and nobody would be allowed to take advantage of the rest of the group, which appears to have happened here. As well as doing this, the box could also have an inventory list that each participant would edit and sign just to clarify. Quote

Let me rephrase that, because it sounds like the box was full of crap. Was there actual feces in the box? I think the idea to either accept or veto the swap is a great one! Also no not literally crap but an awful attempt at pouring soft plastics is what I saw in one of the pictures. I wouldlike to try and start another one and I would be more than happy to be the person that orignally makes the box. First 10 guys to shoot me a pm are in! Quote
hookingem Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 1.hookingem 2.fishn hard 3.Ima Bass Ninja There will be 10 spots first 10 to pm! Started buying a few things tonight for the box! will post pictures of original contents to get approved when finished Quote
brushhoggin Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 doesn't make any sense :-/ just go out and buy a few things you've been wantin, no need to by new stuff and trade it for more new stuff. whatever, have fun i'm sittin this one out Quote
Fat-G Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Wow, what are those hand pours? I'll never do one of these. Agree with SPEED. Quote

Now guys ,we can't let the bad judgement, immaturity, or lack of knowledge of one person derail what could be a promising thing can we? Yes i understand all the things that can go wrong but if you get 10 good, moral people, then they will be able to show a forum of 31000 how great it could be. I am glad to be participating in the next one, i hope to get some things i might not normally be able to get (and put in MORE than i take..remember, its better to give than receive). Sounds like you 2 would be great candidates for the next one. Positive action will always win over negative talk, so i encourage you to step up and participate, and lets redeem the lure swap to give a more positive outlook to those following along as we have. Super User BASSclary Posted March 18, 2011 Super User Posted March 18, 2011 First off on the Daiwa subject, I was under the impression from PMing fishnhard that I could have the reel. I may have misunderstood him, if that is the case fishnhard, please PM me if you want me to send it back to you, or a member after me that wants it. I already took it down, cleaned, and relubed it with Ardent Lubrication. PM me if you want it. The Things I put : What I took: Also took the Mr Twister grubs and the braid, switched a 360 tackle tray for braid, and Gander Grubs for Mister Twister. 13 Cranks for 13 hardbaits/swimbaits. I thought we were putting in things we had luck with, and taking things that we thought we could have luck with. And I was trying to diversify my arsenal. I saw things I dont have that look good, so I put in things other people may not have that have worked for me. I've never really bought a bait more than $4. Sorry if you thought my hardbaits were low quality. And yes the top fin of the trout swim-bait is missing. It catches fish though. I didn't think that would be a problem. It does dawn on me now after I sent the box I shouldn't have taken most of the cranks and replaced most of them with my hardbaits. Sorry Guys. my mistake. And also, the handpours WERE NOT going in there to replace anything. I put them in there to see if someone could catch anything on them. If nobody wants em' then trash em'. And Also I forgot to mention that 3 packs of plastics wouldn't fit in the box to be safe to ship. (2 inch gap between box flaps) So I'll ship those later. Sorry I forgot about those. I'll send them to chromedog, or fishnhard, or the next guy in line. If your after me and think I left you crap, PM me your address and I'll try and make it up to you with some of the stuff I took you may have wanted. Quote
newriverfisherman1953 Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Lets play nice, guys. I was before BC, and there was a bunch of plastics then that I didn't care for. Don't mean they are no good. A swap is a swap. You take some, you put some. Try to even it out. It was my first swap and I enjoyed it. Wouldn't mind to do another. Quote
fishn hard Posted March 18, 2011 Author Posted March 18, 2011 BC i dont want the reel back i wanted you to have it and i was happy that you got it Quote
