My dad got a bass off a Big O last spring, the thing had a really old Senko in its mouth. No hook, nothing...

Who knows how long this bass was holding onto that plastic for! Hours? Months?

He didn't even drop it when trying to slam the crank lol

As for me, Ive only pulled up peoples rigs like lines with hooks attached and the odd musky lure

I went to my local pond last month after heavy rain and it was chocolate milk. Could not even see two inches. I was using a black trick worm wacky rigged. I felt a tap-tap and set the hook. The creature surfaced and it was a turtle. I am terrified of amphibious creatures so when I saw it, I just let it swim around hoping it would come off. It surfaced again and hissed at me. It eventually came off and when I brought my hook in, it was covered in white feathers. There are ducks in that pond so I don't know if he was eating a duck or what.

I snagged someones ultra-lite outfit and it was in great shape , must not have been in the water very long.

I had this happen to me this fall.

It was a smallish Shakespeare ultralight rod and spincast reel. Perfect for one of my little cousins or nieces when I take them out.

The turtle was weird but the weirdest thing I have ever caught were fish guts. The guts of a bass filled with bluegill. I had to somehow get the guts off without touching them and without hitting myself with them while flailing them around. I eventually had to set them on the ground and cut them off with my knife.

Yellowstone River, Yellowstone Park, A pelican took a 3 lb. trout along with a $50 fly line. Mississippi River pool #10 a 4 lb. bullfrog ate a salad spoon and we ate him. Kentucky Lake: caught 2 rod/reel combo's in the same bay on the same afternoon on a shakeyhead. Both trashed. Lake Michigan: a 4 ft. piece of re-bar in 30 ft. of water felt like a huge salmon. Local lake: a 4 ft. snapping turtle scared the bejesus out of my 80 y.o. Dad. And once in awhile, I even catch a fish.

While testing a few new jerkbaits I had recently bought, I "caught" a 100 series pointer. It was a surprise for sure!

I fish tailwaters loads.  People love fishing for trout on the Caney Fork.  People will add weights to spoons to get them down into the generation waters.  I once caught a MASS of silver spoons and lines that had formed at the generator.  There were 9 spoons, lots of line, weights and one nameless jerkbait.   I thought that was weird.

I have had the unfortunate luck of catching some pretty weird things. A rod and reel, a water snake, a sea gull (funny story), a shoe, a tire, a seal (talk about peeling out drag), and a 35 lb snapping turtle.

Hung up my t -rig on some old fishing line went over and just before i cut it noticed a rod tip. Ended up being a KVD reel with berkley rod. Took it home spent 3hrs clean and lube. Been on the deck ever since

I was surf fishing for croaker when my rod bent in half I fought it all the way in thinking a shark took a croaker that swallowed the hook next thing I know I had a size 48 plaid skirt someone lost in the ocean. I also caught a used shotgun shell before

One time i had a duck swim down and bite my dropshot before i could get it away from her.

I caught a Beaver before in the keuka outlet on a spinnerbait.

A snapper when i was little but he broke the line right on next to shore.

This year though while out my friend and i made a makeshift anchor. Because our trolling motor ran out of battery and we were moving to fast to do we had to find a way to slow ourselves down. When the both of us were pulling it up we saw that a pretty big ship anchor came up with it, but there was no way we could get it out. The thing had mostly rusted away over time but when it was whole it must have been huge.

Fishing a kayak tourney in Alabama, I caught about a 12 inch bass that had a 5 inch bass inside it's mouth.  Inside the 5 inch bass, there was a 2 inch bream.  I caught 3 fish by hooking one.  crazy.

I reeled in a fresh water eel one day this summer. I had gotten hung up on an old limb line some had left behind and the eel was actually on it. It was freaky looking, coming out of the river and all. I picked it up and removed the hook. Although it seemed fairly harmless my buddies were scared to touch it. I got my line wrapped around a baby ducks neck a few weeks ago. I was trying to clear my line before the duck got to my line but it was too quick. It hit my line and starting flailing around, wrapping my line around its neck. I reel it in some, let it rest, reeled it in some, let it rest until the line finally came on around his neck and he was free about 15 ft. from shore. I didn't want to cut the line because it was on his neck and I didn't know if he could clear it on his own. It really wasn't that big of a deal but it was a wierd experience.

This happen about two years ago on Lake Murray in South Carolina. I caught what appeared to be a condom, and a set of pantyhose. I know what the use of the pantyhose was for, but the condom? Who knows, and probably don't want to know.

Flippin a jig at a local pond & hooked into what I thought was a tree. Since I had my big stick w/ 80 lb braid, I pulled and reeled to try and work it loose and out comes a golf cart rim! Don't know how it got there but I got it out.

Just the usual, mussel shells, rocks, and an occasional crawfish.

Happened this morning at 5:30, casting in a rocky area thought I was snagged, tightened the drag and began to snap the bow to get my lure and a huge fin appeared.  As more fin started to show the fin seemed to have short fingers, a sea turtle?   Nope it was an adult manatee and they are pretty darn big.  Stopping it would have been near impossible with a md spin rod and 15#, but the braid, 20# leader and loopknot held like a vise until the brute strength of this mammal pulled free of my xrap.  The manatee was none the worse for wear, probably didn't even realize it was snagged, got my lure back and got a great 45 second rush.

I caught an old throw net this summer while fishing a crankbait along a rocky shoreline. Weird thing was it had 2 dead snakes in it (I'm assuming they got tangled in it while swimming under the surface and drown), along with 3 crankbaits, a couple spinnerbaits, and a ton of crappie jigs. It was snagged up pretty bad in the rocks but I was able to get it to the surface with my lure retriever and managed to get it to pop free after pulling on it pretty hard. The snakes smelled terrible but I cut the baits I wanted out then tossed the rest on the bank.

Weird & creepy -  I reeled in a used condom while surf fishing.  Of course, it was on my "Hopkins Shorty".  Ha!

While trolling for musky on Lake St.Clair one summer day many years ago , I reeled my line in for a quick check of what I thought might be weeds only to find what can only be described as a donut rock. It was about three inches accross and the lures trebble hook had snagged it right through the hole! What are the mathamatical chances of that I wonder? I still have the lure with the ''donut'' rock hanging from it.
