Super User Crestliner2008 Posted March 21, 2011 Super User Posted March 21, 2011 I know this has been stressed before and will be time and time again. Since we are starting off a new season, maybe it's a good time to reemphasize some points in posting questions. "Why am I not catching fish" is not a valid question, in my opinion. How can anyone be expected to respond to a question like that, without knowing anything about the situation you are faced with? I think most of us here have some knowledge we'd be more than willing to share with everyone. But ambiguous, generalized questions don't give us much to work with. Ask any question you want, but if you really want a good, helpful answer, it's best to include what kind of body of water you are fishing (lake, reservoir or river), type of fish you are targeting and the conditions you are faced with. Also of help would be the presentation options you tried already and whether you fishing from a boat or along the shoreline. Water temperature would be a definite plus, but we can generalize on that, based on the time of year. My apologies if I am out of line in posting this, but it has been bugging me a bit. BTW....getting my sporting license today! Open water in about another week - I hope! Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 21, 2011 Super User Posted March 21, 2011 You're not out of line. Too many people generalize their questions way too much , they seem to think every body knows the body of water they are fishing. Quote

A vague question can only lead to someone suggesting that the person should throw a Senko, green in color. Wait, that already happens. ;D Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 22, 2011 Super User Posted March 22, 2011 I wouldn't begin to make a recommendation to anyone without actually being there. One of my neighbors is a charter captain, but never fished bass before and was struggling, I thought I knew why. I gave him a better suited rod and reel, the right bait for the situation and showed him how to work it, within minutes he's killing them. Quote
