The goal is every day that the water is soft.

Once the water temps get above 55 or so I get the boat out about once a week on average - that's 8 or 9 hours on the water. The rest of the time I fish from the bank - 1 to 4 hours total each day.

SOMETIMES, the chores build up or I have to be out-of-town and I will actually have to miss a day or two... :'( This season, some "aging airframe" issues might make me miss a few more days than last season...

Sadly I'm lucky if I get to go 2 times a month. I probably average out to about 1 1/2 times a month for the year. A few years ago my answer would be everyday rain or shine but things change. I'll get back to fishing multiple times a week but sadly that time is not here yet.

man i feel your pain. I did not realize how much everyone went. Can you imagine going around 2-3 times a week year round...and the exponential likelihood of catching more big bass...

Hey shimmy - the good thing about being retired is not only the days/hours on the water...but WHICH days. All the good luck I had in February, including my new PB, were because I was working weather patterns and could be on the water at the optimum day/time - not limited by a work schedule. A day or two earlier or later, and I would not have had that new PB !    ;)

Yeah I only get out a few hours a day all day trips are maybe once a week except during vacations its the nice side of being a high school teacher I get lots of time off and only work till 230

Wouldn't I love to have you as my teacher! ;D

And I fish 3-4 times a week because my schedule is pretty flexible and I am able to pick the best days to fish (weather related).

Every single day.  Unless the weather is really bad, I'll be fishing one way or another.  It may be only for an hour or two, but I will get a line wet 365 days of the year.

If I'm out of town...thats a different story.

Lucky Goose, good to be retired huh?

It is tax season now, so I will be lucky to go out once a week. After April, I usually fish 1-2 times a week weather permitting. But I do take a week off each year just to fish, and usually head down to FL.  ;D

In the winter (december- march) I fish tuesdays and thursdays. From april-november I fish 3 nights a week of my choice after work from 5 or 6 pm till darkish. Then I usually get one weekend day in, I usually am on the water at first light and stay till 1 or 2 in the afternoon, and then get the heck out of there before the weekend afternoon crowd gets too bad. Then there are the days when we get rained out at work, or we are slow, I usually fish those days and am home by dinner time. And when I take my late summer 2 weeks of vacation I usually fish every day for most of that. I have been getting 120+ days a year in on just my local lake, add another dozen or trips to other area lakes, and the ice fishing 2 days a week for 3 months and I fish alot. I am glad and lucky to have a wife who doesn't give me flak for it, and I take the  kids as often as I can, my oldest is 6 and she goes out with me 15 or so times a year, probably more as she gets older.

Every day regardless of the weather. Monday thru Friday: 5am till work at 6, 45 mins. at lunch then 3 or 4 hours after work. Saturdays anywhere between 2 to 18 hours. Sundays anywhere between 2 to 6 hours. My wife and two year old come with me on the weekends. So unless we are at the lake I usually only get about two to three hours in.
