BassResource.com Administrator Keri Posted February 6, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 6, 2011 Hi all, I need help from our members. I'll be spending a day on the water with Shaw Grigsby. I would like to compose a list of questions from our members and post the answers after the classic. So if you could ask him one question, what would it be? Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted February 6, 2011 Super User Posted February 6, 2011 Mr. Shaw Grigsby, If you were only allowed one lure to fish a tournament, what lure would it be and why? -Collin "BASSclary" Quote

Super User islandbass Posted February 6, 2011 Super User Posted February 6, 2011 How do you make adjustments (i.e., reassess your situation) to your plan of attack if you come to the realization that your game plan isn't panning out? For example, if you're fishing rip rap in say 20' of water with nothing to show for it, do you change lure color first, or lure size, or even lure type, or do you move in closer or go deeper? I've kept it generic because I don't want to have any constraints on his thought process. I also wonder if it would be better to first make observations of water and atmospheric conditions and other happenings first. As a bank angler 99.999% of the time, I really think it would be helpful to know, especially without the aid of sonar using equipment. You'll also have to tell him I've adopted his lines, "He just crushed it," or "pummeled it!" I love those lines. The other question I have for him is, "Mr. Shaw, may I go fishing with you?" ;D Thanks, Keri! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 6, 2011 Super User Posted February 6, 2011 We have an event coming up on Kentucky Lake towards the end of April. Do you have any specific suggestions for that lake in early spring? 8-) Quote
CJ Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 What is the most important, single piece of advice you would give young anglers who are wanting to pursue a career in the fishing industry? Quote
Super User South FLA Posted February 6, 2011 Super User Posted February 6, 2011 Outside of Bass what is your favorite species of fish to catch? Salt and Freshwater? Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted February 6, 2011 Super User Posted February 6, 2011 Have you ever been kicked out of a bar for being too drunk? Quote

lynyrdsky1 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I was reading about how you're able to catch larger fish on a spinning reel by reversing the crank of the reel instead of messing with the drag, how did you come to figure this out? Quote
paangler3117 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I would ask him for any tips on boat control and positioning. Thanks Keri. Jim Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 13, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 13, 2011 Ok folks, this is your last chance to ask Shaw a question. Quote
BassChaser57 Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I would ask if it gets tiresome that most anglers think all he does is ride around fishing the best lakes without thinking about all the miles, weather, zero paychecks, sponsor obligations, and being away from home. Is there any way to give us weekend anglers an honest view of what being a pro is all about? I have total respect for pro anglers for their commitment to the effort it takes to get to the top and stay there. This months BassMaster magazine had an article that covered some of Ike's travel adventures, I really enjoyed reading about his travel mis-adventures being a pro. Quote
BassChaser57 Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 In his opinion -- what is the number one mistake weekend anglers make? or- What is the number one change that weekend anglers can make to be a better angler? Quote
Gangley Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Similar to what was mentioned above: When you realize that your plan of attack isn't producing as well as you would like, what is the FIRST thing you change? Color, Lure, depth, etc. Quote
PondBoss Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 i'd ask him to say BIG OLE PIIIIIIIG ;D my wife and I love to watch his show just for that Quote
